Wifi Device Power Rating: Devices YOU care about!
According to the FCC (see pic), the official transmit power for the 2021 iPad Pro 11” is 22dBm.
Backstory:
I’ve look high and low for a LONG time to find this info. It is common knowledge that mobile devices have a transmit power usually between 12-15dBm. Android and Windows devices around 15-17dBm.
Apple is incredibly secretive about the insides of their hardware. While digging for a few ither things, I came across and article that explains how to look about Apple product details in the FCC archives. (Article: http://www.greatwhitewifi.com/2016/05/14/power-matching-transmit-power-or-eirp/)
There’s SO much that this means and I’ll save most of it for a show.
Here’s the things to note and look into further:
-Ubiquiti Dream Machine 5GHz: 26dBm + 4.5dBi antenna
-2019 Intel 13” MacBook Pro: 17dBm
-2018 iPad Pro 11” 2nd gen: 20-26dBm
-Watch Series 6: 18dBm
-2020 4th gen iPad Pro 12.9: 19dBm
-iPhone 12 Pro: 22dBm
-2021 iPad Pro 12.9: 22dBm
-2021 iPad Pro 11: 22dBm
-Netgear M5: 12dBm
-Mevo Start: 21dBm
Lot’s to look up. More soon.
